THE BRIDAL AFFAIR INDIA BLOG

Welcome to the real wedding of Monali and Rahul who explored varied themes throughout their events. With a genius idea of having the traditional ceremonies on day one and leaving day two for an all-day-all-night party, these two sure would’ve won more hearts than just each other’s at their soiree

Their Story

Describing themselves and their wedding the bride says, “Rahul & I got married over a two day celebration at the Grand Hyatt, Goa followed by a reception at The Club, Mumbai. We wanted the wedding celebration to be an extension of who we are as individuals hence we had a slightly different flow of events.”

The Venue

Grand Hyatt, Goa was chosen as the venue for the festivities as Monali’s now husband Rahul hails from there. It was also a perfect set up for them to incorporate their love for all things tropical. Monali further adds that, “We wanted the wedding to take place on the first day so that we could celebrate with our family members and friends the following day.”

The Events

With the mandap puja and wedding ticked off on day one itself, the couple left the next day for all things fun and frolic. Monali describes each event by saying, “The celebration started with the Mandap puja, we wanted the decor and our look to be simple and minimalistic, not taking away from the main wedding celebration that was to follow. The main wedding decor was inspired by a tropical Indian forest theme. We had a sundown baraat with trance/psychedelic and house music inspired by Goa since Rahul has been born and brought up there. The bridal entry was a traditional ganga aarti procession led by our family pandits. The second day kicked off with an all-white jazz brunch. The theme was inspired by Capri since we were going to Italy for our honeymoon. This was followed by the cocktail reception where Bryen and Parth performed. It was a black tie event with a Victorian English decor. We then flew back to Mumbai to host another reception.”
